Your Reasonable Service unto God

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” — Romans 12:1 NKJV

In the Old Testament, frequent spiritual sacrifices were made in the temple of God, led by the priests, usually for the Israelites. Now, God doesn’t dwell in temples made by human hands (see Acts 17:24). He now lives in each of His children by the Spirit. That’s why it’s written in 1 Corinthians 6:19 NKJV that,

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”

Therefore if your body is God’s temple, then presenting it unto Him as a living sacrifice is a privilege, not an obligation. If you get this understanding well, you’ll not need supervision to do God’s work, in all your life’s endeavours, especially in the church.

Beloved, making an eternal impact is your reasonable service unto God. But as far as this Earth is concerned, you cannot fulfil your divine mandate without your body being in good health.

Take care of yourself as an honour to the Lord of it. So that submitting it to serve Him will be easy and unrestrictive. May the Lord give you strength.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for purchasing my body and spirit with the blood of Christ. Today, by this divine understanding, I offer it as a living sacrifice unto You. Help me submit it to the fulfilment of divine purpose. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
