Your Builder Has Married You

[5] “As a young man marries a young woman, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.” — Isaiah 62:5 NIV

Jesus had to leave heaven to come and die to serve as the propitiation for humanity’s sins. So anyone who accepts Him as Lord and personal Saviour becomes one spirit with Him (see 1 Corinthians 6:17). Now, the church is the bride of Christ (see Ephesians 5:24-25), of which you’re part of, child of God.

So when the prophet Isaiah speaks of how God rejoices over Zion in Isaiah 62:5, he was speaking of us, the now children of God, who’re Zionites (see 1 Peter 2:9). Your Builder, the Lord Jesus Christ, has married you when you got born again. That’s why His Holy dwells in you to be your helper, guide and sustainer all your life.

Therefore, when the Word says, “… submit yourself unto God (see James 4:7), it’s about you gaining access to all that God desires to mould and transform you to become. Because of a truth, no wife will see the best of his husband if she’s not submissive to him. That is even applicable to how women relate to men in God’s family and leadership.

God is your Builder. He fearfully and wonderfully made you (see Psalm 139:14). Hence, He knows you more than you know yourself. And that means, He knows the things you can do by His empowerment which you don’t even know. Humble yourself under His mighty hand, and He will lift you up in His due time (1 Peter 5:6).

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for becoming the Builder of my life. Today, I submit every area of my life to Your leadership. Guide me in the way everlasting. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
