You Are the Salt of the Earth

[13] “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” — Matthew 5:13 (NKJV)

Have you tried cooking rice before? What happened when the food was ready, but you forgot to add salt to it? The food gets tasteless, right? Later, you’ll realise that you can’t eat it, so you have to get rid of it. That is a natural tendency. But the wisdom behind it is sourced from the Spirit.

To you as a believer, Jesus says you are the salt of the Earth. That means without you, the world around you will lack seasoning, and people will continue living tasteless lives – life without enjoyment in the presence of God. Many people think having fun is about going to events featuring secular musicians. They don’t know that in those gatherings are demons ready to enter and spoil lives. Nobody will find fulfilment in life without Jesus.

Haven’t you realised that salt doesn’t need to be plenty in food to see its impact? That means as a believer, God has made you the salt of the earth so you can impact many with even little input from you. Don’t ever belittle yourself in any way. If God values you this much, value yourself highly, whether people see it or not.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Lord God, make my life impactful everywhere I go as I live according to Your dictates. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
