By“Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” — Proverbs 24:13 - 14 NIV
In Proverbs 24:13-14, Solomon describes wisdom as honey such that when you eat it, you’ll have a future hope. How true is that?
Do you know that if you know how to do something but haven’t yet applied your knowledge, it’ll be easy to do that thing when the need arises? For example, some people are good financial planners, even though they do not have enough money currently in their lives. But because of that divine wisdom, it gives them future security in terms of wise financial usage and accountability. And due to that, they earn God’s trust in managing the true riches of His kingdom.
Wisdom gives you a future hope. If you are determined to get divine wisdom, you’ll never regret it in future because you’ll not mess up when you get there.
There are some things you have to learn today, not because you need them in your present life, but for the sake of your future. For instance, you don’t need to marry before you start reading marriage books. You don’t need to start having kids before you begin reading Christian books on parenting. You don’t even need to start ministry before you read ministry books.
If you want to have a glorious future, you must start investing in yourself today. Do this, and you’ll get so filled with the wisdom of God that you’ll hardly run into trouble without readily getting a solution. Take your Bible study seriously. For it’s in it that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden (Colossians 2:3).

Father, I pray that you’ll increase my desire to get more divine wisdom and understanding. Give me foresight of what I’ll need in future so I can prepare today by reading helpful materials and spending my money purposefully and wisely. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
