We shall Possess Our Possessions

“But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” — Obadiah 1:17 KJV

A wise man in the Bible exclaimed one evil thing he saw under the sun. He said,

I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.

Ecclesiastes 10:7 KJV

That means there’s a lot of error in our world. Unbelievers now own many possessions that ought to be acquired and protected by believers. And because of that, sometimes the Church get affected by how these people manage their systems and powers since we’re partly dependent on them to spread the net of kingdom influence.

God saw this error even before Jesus came. So He released a prophecy beforehand that we shall possess our possessions. That’s good news. Right? But let’s look at what it takes to make this scripture (Obadiah 1:17) fulfilled in our daily lives as Christians.

1. Deliverance upon mount Zion

Before Obadiah 1:17 gets fulfilled in our lives, it’s written that there shall be deliverance in Mount Zion. In other words, salvation and spiritual transformation will occur in the presence of God (see Joel 2:32). Now, I added spiritual transformation because it’s through it that we’ll be re-oriented to live as God created us to be. And that will make God, through us, build many things for His kingdom’s impact (see Amos 9:11).

2. There shall be holiness

Also, there shall be holiness in Mount Zion. Not only will God call people holy (Isaiah 4:2-3), but the people of God shall be holy in all manner of things they do because of their spiritual transformation (1 Peter 1:15).

Are you a Christian always struggling to walk in dominion over all areas of your life? Do you want to possess your possessions? Get born again by accepting Jesus, submit to spiritual mentorship for your transformation, be an ardent follower of the Lord, and do His work.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father in Jesus’ name, I receive grace to possess my possessions in Christ Jesus as I submit unto your Word and your Holy Spirit in me. Amen.
