Use Your Tongue Well

“Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.” — James 3:10 NKJV

The tongue, as little as it is, even without a bone, is the most influential part of the entire human body. Proverbs 18:21 says,

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 18:21 NKJV

That means that how you use your tongue will determine how your life will be because what you keep saying become the fruit of your life with time.

As a child of God, you must learn how to use your tongue well. You cannot use it to both curse and bless, but bless only. But you may ask, how can this be done? Well, I’m not burdening you to check the words you speak constantly. No! Other than that, you’ll be using human efforts to do what only God’s grace can help you to do. Hear what Jesus says in Luke 6:45.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Luke 6:45 NKJV

Here’s the tip. If you want to use your tongue well to bless others, you’ve got to check what fills your heart. God is good. And that means it’s only His good Word in your heart that’ll make you speak like Him as the sent of God wherever you find yourself.

Don’t focus on your words but on what fills your heart. Listen to Jesus, and let His Word have your allegiance and attention.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that You’ll consistently fill my heart with Your good Word so that I’ll keep using my tongue to bless lives. Amen!
