Till Your Land

“He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.” — Proverbs 12:11 NKJV

When God created Adam, He gave him work. That is, to dress and keep the garden (Genesis 2:15). He was to work on the land and the animals and everything entrusted to his care in the garden so that God’s kingdom would spread across the surface of the earth. But upon disobedience through the fall, Adam and his wife failed this mandate. He had to till the same land God gave him to work on to get food, which wasn’t God’s idea.

But here comes Jesus, the person of Grace (John 1:14), whose mission is not only to save the lost but also to empower God’s people to fulfil divine purpose through effective and productive work devoid of stress.

But before Jesus came, Solomon clearly said that “he who tills his land will be satisfied with bread.” Other versions say “…will have abundant food.” In those days, man was still under the curse of tilling the land for food with his own strength. Now, it’s not like that. It’s actually grace empowering God’s people to work both to fulfil purpose and to get what they’ll eat and need.

You may not have a land as a child of God, but you have provisions. You have a phone, shoes, team members to work with, etc. Think of the things in your room and workplace. God is using me to tell you that “hey, brother/sister, till your land.” In other words, pray for God to empower you and give you ideas on ways to use what He has provided you to yield maximum results.

Friend, stop complaining about what you don’t have. I can tell you that there are probably several ideas for using your provisions that you’ve never imagined. Pray and think. You don’t always need new things. Sometimes, you only need new ways of using your resources and bettering what you’re doing. I pray for that grace to come upon your life.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, give me ideas that will make me bring out the best in whatever and whoever you have blessed my life with in Jesus’ name. Amen!
