Things Don’t Just Happen

[1] “In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.” — Luke 2:1 NIV

Do you believe that anything that happens in nature already occurred in the realm of the spirit? If you don’t, Hebrews 11:3 proves it.

[3] “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”

The things we see in the world weren’t made from the things which do appear. The sun you see shining wasn’t made from any natural thing; God spoke it to existence. And He does things today too especially through people.

It happened that Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. Israel was a part of that world because she was in bondage to the Romans at the time Jesus was born. So Joseph went with Mary to his hometown, Nazareth, specifically Bethlehem. There, Jesus was born. That happening fulfilled a prophecy Micah said about Jesus in Micah 5:2 – that the Saviour of the world would be born in Bethlehem.

If Caesar had not issued that decree, Joseph wouldn’t have gone back to Bethlehem. And that would mean Jesus would have been born somewhere else. So I believe God made Caesar Augustus issue that decree, not himself. I’ve seen this happen several times in governments, where God leads national leaders to do things they themselves aren’t aware that God caused them to do.

Friend, things don’t just happen. That’s why as a believer, you have the advantage of prayer. It’s through prayer that we give God heavenly access to change things on this Earth.

You may never know what the devil had planned ahead of you. Not all green lights in your mind are actually green lights from God. So pray without ceasing. Keep praying whether you see things happen or not. And God won’t suffer you to shame.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for grace and provision to help me live. Give me spiritual discernment to use whatever you lead your people to do for my spiritual advantage. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
