The Stone the Builders Rejected Has Become the Cornerstone

[42] Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? — Matthew 21:42 NIV

Isn’t it amazing how God takes people others regard as foolish and beautifies their lives over time? The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV) that,

“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;”

You must understand that just like food ought to get processed before becoming completely edible for us, it takes time for God to train and glorify anybody He works with. From the onset, everyone may look the same physically. But for those God has chosen, God continually works within them for their lives to be in conformity to the image of Jesus. That is why no child of grace has a normal life.

In Psalm 118:22-23, David prophesied about how Jesus would be rejected by men in this world, and it happened. He said, ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’.

When Jesus came to the world, the Bible says this same world didn’t know Him, and neither did His own (native Israelites) know Him. Everything on this earth was created by and for Jesus (see Colossians 1:16). But how sad it is when nobody knew Him when He came to His own.

The world thought they had rejected Jesus. Today, He’s the One in whom the solution to all the problems in this world is. He’s the embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge (see Colossians 2:3).

I want to minister grace to you today. People may have rejected you several times, but God will beautify your life to such a high level that those same people will regret having rejected you. As the world cannot succeed in anything without Jesus, God will make you indispensable in this world. Believe in Him.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for accepting me even as others reject me. I know that in You, I’ll never be rejected. Thank You, Father. Amen!
