The Pressure To Perform

And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.” - Luke 23:35 NKJV

We go through each day full of activities. For those who live “normal” lives, attending to daily routines is normal. But the people who live on purpose approach each day with specific tasks that contribute to living a meaningful life.

So many people are caught in the pressure to perform because they are trying to live like someone else instead of appreciating how unique and purposeful God has created them.

When Jesus was on the cross, people came to mock him. They used the past miracles he did to tell him to save Himself. In fact, He had all the divine power and authority to save Himself from the cross. But He knew God had captured it in His plan that He (Jesus) must die for the sins of all humanity and also bring many sons unto God’s glory (Hebrews 2:9-10, 14-15).

Because of this, He didn’t care about boycotting the talk of people telling Him to save Himself on the cross in order to remain focused.

Distractions are littered everywhere in this world, especially in various forms of advertisements. Dear friend, you cannot put your life to chance. Attend to people and demands of life and work, but never neglect performing duties about divine purpose fulfilment. Move forward despite all odds. Press on till the end.

You’re a blessing.
