The Need for More Kingdom Labourers

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” — Matthew 9:37 - 38 NKJV

Sometimes, we think the emanation of several ministries in the world equates to God having enough labourers in His kingdom. But, it’s not true.

Aside from some believers living as enemies to the cross of Jesus, some ministers aren’t also doing what God has told them to do well. Some sincerely need help. Some lack resources to do ministry. Others are also lazy. The conditions vary, but this was Jesus’ request to his disciples:

Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.
Matthew 9:38 NKJV

There’s the need for more kingdom labourers in the vineyard of the Lord. Don’t assume everyone is saved. Don’t assume people know God well. We don’t have access to the entire statistics of these issues, but it’s clear that if Jesus is asking for more kingdom labourers, then more work has to be done.

No matter where you are, God has redeemed you to become an ambassador of Christ. You’re a kingdom labourer in your church, workplace, home, and everywhere you find yourself. Don’t wear the garment of Christ on Sundays alone. No! Live unto God every time. By so doing, many onlookers will become influenced by the gospel of Jesus without words.

Pray that the Lord will redeem more people to fill His need for more Kingdom labourers in His vineyard of souls.

Oh God, help me to represent You well wherever I find myself. Always provide and make me conscious of your unfailing Word so that I’ll not conform to the evil patterns of this world in the name of Jesus. Amen!
