The Lord Shall be Your Light When You Sit in Darkness

[8] “Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The LORD will be a light to me.” — Micah 7:8 (NKJV)

Life is in seasons. And because of that, everyone goes through highs and lows. I’m not excluded; you’re not. But in all these things, who is your anchor? Or what have you put your hope in? I know some Christians who are currently unemployed, but they live joyfully like no other. And I know some people fully employed, have money but lack peace of mind because of life’s issues.

The prophet Micah went through turmoil in his life for a while. He had God, so he knew how to anchor his hope in him. He perceived his enemies were laughing at him for having gone through those issues. But he said, “… When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.”

Today, this declaration is yours in the name of Jesus. The Lord will be your light when you sit in darkness. When you get to a point in life you don’t know what to do, call upon Him. He will be there to give you divine direction.

Don’t sit down enduring or living with issues God can help you overcome. Speak up to God in prayer. Anchor your hope in Him. He won’t fail you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for not leaving me in this life. I watch in hope of You. Lead and guide me in the way everlasting. Amen!
