Take Spiritual Retreats To Cleanse Your Hands of Filth

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” — James 4:8 KJV

When was the last time you asked yourself why you should bathe? Has it ever crossed your thoughts that bathing is necessary to clear filth on your skin each day? I suppose not. I think we have made bathing so cultural and habitual in our lives that we’re not concerned about its purpose and the connection it has with spiritual retreats.

Apostle James tells us in chapter 4, verse 8 of his book to all global believers that first, we should draw near God, and He will draw near to us. But he didn’t stop there. James added,

“… Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

So it’s not enough to draw near God. There are some things you need to take away from your life with intentionality to sustain that level of closeness to God. It could be improper relationships, bad habits, oversleeping, laziness, or something nasty you’ve entertained in your life to be there for so long.

Remember that God dwells in unapproachable light (1 Timothy 6:16). So anytime He draws near you, darkness in your life must vanish. By saying “darkness,” I’m speaking of the wrong things in your life you keep harbouring – including the offences and evil phone activities.

Take spiritual retreats to cleanse your hands of filth, child of God. You are in the world, but not of it. As you move in this evil world administering God’s goodness to people, there are wrong things you may have picked up unawares, mostly wrong mindsets. Get closer to God. Study His Word so much, and all those filthy things will be brainwashed off your head by the efficacy of the Spirit of God in you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, help me take spiritual retreats to cleanse my hands of any filth stuck in my life as I express You wherever I find myself in this evil world. I choose to draw near You today, purposely to know You more. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
