Sustain A Creative Mentality

[18] And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” — Matthew 28:18 - 19 NKJV

Matthew 28:18-20 is a very popular scripture known by many Christians around the globe. But upon studying it carefully, I realised Jesus indirectly taught about the importance of sustaining a creative mentality in spreading the Word of God to the ends of the world.

In verse 18, He said all authority in heaven and Earth had been given to Him. And then added in verse 19, “Go therefore…”. Jesus never gave the disciples a method, strategy or medium to spread the gospel. He just told them to go and make disciples of all nations. Do you understand that?

It means that for them, and now to us to reach the ends of the world, we have been given the liberty to be creative and innovative. And a typical explanation of how true this is is the menace of digital ministries like The Bible Daily Network and Desiring God Ministries.

You don’t need to be a boss to become a contributor to God’s purpose.

When Jesus told the disciples to reach the ends of the world, there wasn’t a single camera, phone, internet connection or even electricity. But as the world advances in technology, so must we be conscious of using it to our advantage to advance the mission of Jesus.

If you’re a ministry leader reading this short devotional, I encourage you to take a prayer retreat for God to refresh your divine assignment with new things. And if you’re a worker in a ministry, do the same because you don’t need to be a boss to become a contributor to God’s purpose. Joseph was never the king of Egypt, but till today, his impact on that nation is still indelible (see Genesis 47:26).

The Lord is your ever-present help!

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving us the liberty to be creative in spreading the gospel of Christ all over the world. I come before You today to refresh Your vision for my divine assignment. That Christ will become known in every sphere of influence I’m called to make an impact. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
