Supervise The Growth Of Your Work

“A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.” — Proverbs 24:33 - 34 NIV

The easiest way to destroy your work is to lose focus on it. The less you focus on whatever you’re handling, the more it suffers growth and increase.

God established this principle way back in Genesis. He made the world and saw that everything He has done was good (Genesis 1:31). But He still created and appointed man to have dominion over His creation.

In other words, although what God created wasn’t problematic, He needed man to manage and supervise the growth of the work done. That’s why He told Adam to dress and tend the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:15).

God didn’t tell him to build a new garden but only to make it better than he got created to see it. Today, the world is copying this principle from scripture without giving credit to God.

Don’t we have well-established organisations that still employ people to manage their already-built systems? In the technology field, don’t we have big tech companies that hire software engineers to manage their already-built mobile and desktop applications?

These things are replications of God’s principles. They never originate from the world.

As a visionary man, God will give you extra grace to build your organisation. But a time will come when you’ll need others to help you manage and supervise the growth of your work, not to put together anything new. That’s when any new thing that gets introduced on board becomes beneficial to the expansion of what has already been built.

Nothing progresses when nobody is at work.

Solomon says poverty comes when workers decide to take little sleep and slumber (Proverbs 24:33-34). I don’t believe the word “poverty” is just about finances. I think it cuts across every sphere of life that needs to be improved.

It could be your devotion unto God, character, marriage, vision, education, church or even relationships with people. The moment you stop putting effort into all these areas of your life, you won’t see a progression.

Nothing progresses when nobody is at work. Supervise the growth of your work, be it ministry, business or other fields of life. Continue studying because your progression depends on it.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, in Jesus’ name, I receive grace to remain focused on what You have called me to do. Help me to starve my distractions and feed my focus. Prevent anything that’ll direct me off course from happening in my life. Supply me the materials and resources I need to see progression in every field of life where You’ve called me to be faithful. Amen.
