Stay Committed

“Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.” - I Timothy 4:15 NKJV

To be committed to something is to be bounded by its course, no matter what happens. I’ve realized many people don’t have problems making new decisions but lack knowledge about how to stay committed to their decisions. For example, let’s say you decide to pray at dawn every day. You started the first day, and it went well. On the second day, it was good. By the third day, the desire for dawn prayers in you has started diminishing and is showing in your desire to have more sleep. These are some of the crucial problems of many Christians who don’t know the importance of commitment.

Meditation is necessary for building commitment to stay on course with Christ’s teachings.

You cannot excel and improve in anything you’re not committed to doing it. Commitment comes with consistency, and that’s what Apostle Paul taught Pastor Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:15. After giving him (Timothy) several instructions on how to live out eternal life to the fullest, Paul urges him to meditate on the teachings while giving himself wholly unto them.

From this, I can say that meditation is necessary for building commitment to stay on course with Christ’s teachings. When you meditate on God’s Word, you’ll understand it better (2 Timothy 2:7). If you’d do this, your life will see progress in commitment unto Christ and spiritual understanding of His Word. When you find a place or God leads you to a place where you get quality content of the Word of Truth, use their God-inspired services well. Commit to the teachings of Christ, and your spiritual understanding will develop.

You’re a blessing.
