Stand in Judgment, Child of God

[24] “And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.” – Ezekiel 44:24 (KJV)

Did you know that as a child of God, you’re a judge? You can make righteous judgements, not because you know the law but because of the gift of spiritual discernment you have. However, the question is, how many believers trust what the Word of God says?

Unfortunately, many people these days put the Word aside when they’re dealing with situations. In my country, Ghana, it’s common to hear people say, “Let’s put the Bible aside in this matter” (in a local Akan language). And to my dismay, some believers are part of those who say that. Sometimes, I don’t blame such believers because they have a very shallow understanding of who God is and how final His Word is. Colossians 2:9 (KJV) says,

“… lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.”

When Paul was writing these things, He said in verse 3 that Christ is the embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge. That means there’s no wisdom anywhere in this world that can ever override the Word of God. Sometimes, it funnies me when people say, “Let’s put the Word of God aside” when it comes to judging situations.

Stand in judgment, child of God. The insight God has given you to judge situations righteously can only be put to use when you speak. Refuse to let worldly opinions override what God has told you in your mind. If God never fails, His Word will never fail too. Stay faithful to Him.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to stand in judgment against any evil going on in my life. I pray, in the name of Jesus, let Your Word be the final say in everything I get involved in my life. Amen!
