Serve God Acceptably

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.” — Hebrews 12:28 NKJV

Work is good. But when you do it in a way your master doesn’t like, it creates problems. In today’s world, many people hate their bosses because they claim they are terrible to work with. But if the same people will seek to understand how their superiors want them to do the work, it’ll be easy to flow with them at the workplace. Study your boss.

In Christ, there’s enough room for every Christian to serve God. There’s nothing like “no vacancy” in God’s kingdom. But there is a way to serve God acceptably. Other than that, anybody can do something in the name of Jesus and claim one is serving God.

According to Hebrews 12:28, there’s one thing every labourer in God’s kingdom must have to serve God acceptably. It’s called Grace. Without it, ministry will be full of stress, faintness, and unfruitfulness.

There’s nothing like ‘no vacancy’ in God’s kingdom.

In John 1:14, we understand that Jesus is grace-personified. So if we Christians need grace to serve God acceptably, it means the best way to have that grace is by being with Jesus. That was the exact principle the early church apostles had that helped them do so many exploits for God (Acts 4:13). They were uneducated and unlearned. But their fellowship with Jesus as ministers was on point.

Do you struggle to fulfil kingdom assignments? Reduce your schedules and be with Jesus. You’ll receive all the empowerment you need to go the extra mile. Don’t focus on the work. Focus on Jesus. It’s Him who will empower you to do mighty exploits unto God’s glory.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Oh God, I refuse to become so busy doing your work that I’ll not have time to be with You in fellowship. Help me live in the consciousness that you’re always with me wherever I go. Amen!
