Rejected by God but Accepted by Men

“[23] For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,
He also has rejected you from being king.” — 1 Samuel 15:23 NKJV

Have you read the Old Testament and seen how Saul got rejected by God as king, yet he continued to sit on the throne of Israel for years? That tells us how severe God’s decisions are without man’s insight into it, even if it’ll take years to manifest.

Saul disobeyed God. And Samuel told him that God had rejected him as king of Israel. Today, many people engage in rebellious acts and get judgements from heaven. Yet, people don’t see it until time reveals it.

For example, Jesus said in John 6:63 that the flesh profits nothing. That means in the realm of God, there’s nothing you start in the flesh (without God’s direction) that would thrive. Why? Because he who sows in the flesh shall reap corruption (see Galatians 6:8). It’s only the things birthed out of intimacy with God that can be sustained and thrive in our lives. That’s why 1 John 5:4 NKJV (boldfaced mine) says,

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”

The word is “whatever.” So it includes ideas, visions, people getting saved, and the like. Everything born of God overcomes the world by faith.

I don’t want you to end up like Saul, who chose to rebel against the instructions of the Lord (not to take anything from the land of the Amalekites after destroying the city) and still used the things he grabbed to sacrifice unto the same God. In fact, that is like rebelling against your senior minister with a group of people only to form a church with that group. Which God are they worshipping?

God can’t be mocked. Whatever you sow, you’ll reap multiple folds of it. If you sow rebellion, you’ll be rejected by God but accepted by men, especially your followers.

Don’t be a fan of breaking God’s principles. And never forget that God is always superior. He doesn’t joke with His Word. Therefore, be intentional about obeying Him every step of your life.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for grace. Help me to choose to honour what You said over what people expect me to do to favour their demands at the expense of Your principles. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
