Pull Resources Together to Honour Jesus

“And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” — Matthew 2:11 NKJV

If you’re a group leader of a small team, how will you feel when each member puts in maximum effort to make the vision for the team work? Won’t you feel relieved and happy? Yes. Right? That is the same way God values unity. In Psalm 133:1 (NKJV), the Bible says,

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!”

It’s good to dwell in unity as a small team, family and brethren. And when such a link is there, it becomes easy to pull resources together to do something.

According to the gospel of Matthew, the number of wise men (Magi) who came to visit Jesus wasn’t stated. Some people say they were three because the gifts they presented, namely, gold, frankincense and myrrh, were three. But the Bible says, “… when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh (Matthew 2:11). Nevertheless, they were never numbered.

All that they did was to pull resources together to honour Jesus, even as a little baby. Today, this principle hasn’t changed; in that, it’s better to fulfil a vision with a team than to do it alone.

It’s better to fulfil a vision with a team than to do it alone.

Have you watched or seen a baton relay race before? When one wins, the whole team wins, not the last athlete who made it. In the same way, when you put differences and personal selfish ambitions aside to build upon the corporate vision for that ministry, business or corporation, you’ll see multiple productivity and faster work done because of workload sharing.

Never seek personal glory for whatever you do. Because, for your information, everything earthly is temporary, including fame and wealth. It’s better for that ministry to continue even when you pass on than to do everything yourself and die with it. Be a generational thinker and a team worker when you find yourself in any place God has called you to be.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, root out selfishness in me in everything I’m involved in. I pray in the name of Jesus, give me the understanding to belong wholly to where you plant me. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
