Move Forward in Christ

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,” - Philippians 3:13 NKJV

Everybody has many things to do in life. But sometimes, when we get struck by misfortunes, the urge to continue pressing on in doing what’s right before God goes down. For instance, let’s say you’re building a house, and one day you go to the building site only to see this uncompleted house destroyed by fire. What will you do? Will you continue to worry about your misfortune or build again at another place?

Apostle Paul was a man of God who did mighty things for the furtherance of the gospel. Even though he encountered situations (some were direct threats to his life), he continued to fulfil his calling. When he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the book of Philippians, he was in prison. But what he wrote there is even more encouraging to us who live freely. To me, it seems what he was going through didn’t affect his passion for Christ. He knew he’d finish his race still strong in faith.

Jesus never promised us a problem-free life in this world, but he did promise us that He’d be with us. If God tells you to move on in faith to do something, as long as the resources are available, do it. Even if they’re not available, start it and see how God provides every step of your way. Don’t limit God in your mind. He cares about you so much that he’ll do whatever it takes for you to be strong in faith. However, you have to move on when He instructs you. Listen to God.

You’re a blessing.
