Let’s Go To Bethlehem

“When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” - Luke 2:15 NIV

When a piece of good news is listened to, it triggers an immediate response in the one that receives it. The angel who gave the shepherds the news about Jesus’ birth knew about this behaviour of men, so he gave them a sign to the house Jesus was in. Nobody forced them to go to Bethlehem at that night hour, but they said to themselves, “let’s go to Bethlehem.”

If it were today, many people would have considered safety, money, and even a transport vehicle before embarking on a journey like that at that hour. The kind of response these shepherds gave to the good news was very remarkable. It tells us that as busy, planned, and organized our lives are or may be, we must always make time to take immediate actions to important spiritual demands without hesitation.

Am I saying that God isn’t a God of order? No. I’m saying there are times we think how we’ve planned out our lives is in synchrony with God’s plan for us, which isn’t always true.

The Magi arrived safely at the residence without any injury. Our savior deserves our time. Do not replace your time for God with busy schedules. Remember that everything earthly is temporary, but God will forever be God. Merry Christmas.

You’re a blessing.
