Lend to the Lord

“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.” - Proverbs 19:17 NIV

There are several kinds of spiritual investments. And one of them is showing kindness out of the inspiration of God’s love to poor people.

Jesus said in John 12:8 that we’ll always have poor people around us. That implies that no matter how good a country’s economy is, there’ll still be poor people around us, even in the Church. Moreover, that also confirms the truth that love will always be kind because there will always be opportunities to help needy people.

According to Proverbs 19:17, when you show kindness to the poor, you lend to the Lord. God is the ultimate caretaker of everybody’s soul. He is so big yet cares so much about each one that, He’s willing to reward the good deeds of anyone who gives to the poor.

God isn’t a crook businessman who dupes people to gain from them. When you sow unto the welfare of His kingdom, He’s faithful to reward you, even in multiple folds. It’s written in Luke 6:38 (NIV) that,

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Luke 6:38 NIV

Do you want improvement in your life, especially in terms of finances? Consider giving to the poor and needy when budgeting your funds. By doing that, you’ll lend to the Lord, even if you can’t see it. God will surely reward you. He’s not unrighteous to forget your labour of love (Hebrews 6:10).

Don’t be too wise a Christian not to care about the needs of others. We need to help one another, in any way, at any time.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

In the name of Jesus, let me live in the consciousness of not only me but also others. Help me put the welfare of needy people in my plan, that I’ll be a blessing unto them whenever such opportunities come my way. Amen!
