Intercede for people

“And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” - John 11:42 NKJV

Intercession is a form of prayer said for the sake of others. One of the most powerful ways to help people is to intercede for them. People have problems they can’t share with the general public. People have struggles they want to overcome but are shy of approaching able ministers of grace for help.

When Jesus was on earth, one of His primary concerns was the unbelief of the Israelites. These people saw many signs some believers of today haven’t ever encountered before. They saw Jesus physically. Some held His hand and even ate with Him. Yet, they didn’t believe in Him. Jesus constantly interceded for them because He wanted them to believe in Him to be saved.

When Lazarus died, Jesus purposely waited for four days before coming to the burial ground. Before He raised Him from the dead, Jesus prayed unto the Father that He (God) should let that miracle happen just for those doubting to believe. And truthfully, many people believed in Jesus after that miracle occurred (John 12:9-11).

Jesus knew their struggle. So He interceded for them based on His understanding.
See, it’s not always about your wants and your needs. Intercede for people when you pray, especially for those not saved. Don’t think about yourself only. Bear other people’s burdens in prayer.

You’re a blessing.
