I Watch In Hope Of The Lord

[6] “For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises up against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— a man’s enemies are the members of his own household. [7] But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” — Micah 7:6 - 7 NIV

Have you ever observed the state of the lives of people around you only to see that things are bad? Maybe yes or no. But I’ve seen some before. What I did was to turn to the Lord and pray for such people as and watch in hope of the Lord.

Prophet Micah observed families all around his life to counsel himself. He saw that sons dishonoured their fathers, daughters rose against their mothers, and daughters-in-law against their mothers-in-law. He saw that in several homes, families were apart instead of becoming one.

Although Micah was a prophet, he recognised God’s hand in dealing with these issues was much better than his. Hence, he rolled over the burden of seeing family disorders back to order into God’s hands.

When you wake up, what do you thank God for? What burdens do you cast to the Lord daily? This world isn’t fair, and too many people say times are hard.

As a Christian, you’re not part of the number. You must be intentional about your life and never compromise, even if all those around you miss the point. Learn to trust God to order your steps and provide as you wait for His timing. He makes things beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Shalom!

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Oh God, I roll over all my burdens unto you today. As I go about my life activities daily, supply what I need to do everything purposefully well. Teach me how to watch in hope of You. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
