Hypocrisy Will Always be Temporary

[17] “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.” – Matthew 7:17 (NKJV)

An African adage goes by the saying, “Attitude is like pregnancy. No matter how long you try to hide it, it will eventually surface.” That means hypocrisy will always be temporary. When you see a person using deceptive ways to lure people, he may succeed from the onset. However, it is only a matter of time before his deeds will get exposed.

God has made this world such that seedtime and harvest will always revolve (see Genesis 8:22). You’ll always reap what you sow, but not how you sow it; it’ll be more than what you sow. For example, planting two maize seeds on the ground won’t yield two maize plants carrying two cobs with two seeds on it. No! It’ll always be more than that.

Now, that is great news for good people and also bad news for evil people. If you’re a good person in Christ, no matter how people mock you for your blameless way of living, your good ways will yield good fruits for you in future. And if you’re cruel, you’ll surely end in destruction.

Because of the bitter-sweet nature of what Jesus said in Matthew 7:17, I want to give you solemn counsel today – don’t toy with sin. Don’t joke with it because its wages are death. Avoid living a hypocritical life in the view of making ends meet, or else your fate won’t be desirous to anybody. Be guided!

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to live a great life that honours you every day of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
