How to Win Favor in the sight of God and Man

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.” — Proverbs 3:3-4 NIV

Favor is inevitable to get if you want to rise to the high-level God wants you to reach in your divine calling. Many things required of you to possess at that great height, especially finances, don’t come by your own hard work or strategies. They come by the favor of God manifested in people committed to helping you.

As a child of God, you must never downplay the impact of favor upon your destiny. As great as Jesus was, He needed favor to carry out His divine mandate on the earth. Luke 2:52 (NKJV) says,

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Luke 2:52 (NKJV)

Favor is a necessary possession in making a Christ-centred impact on this world. But the question is, how can we win favor in the sight of God and man? That’s what Proverbs 3:3 (NIV) teaches.

It says, “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” So the two primary ways of winning favor before God and man are: walking in love and faithfulness.

Focus on loving others as Christ loved you and gave Himself for you. You’ll see that you’ll walk in love by grace. Also, when it comes to faithfulness, do whatever gets handed to you to do excellently, handling things entrusted to you with much care. Doing these two things will make you win favor in the sight of God and man. You wouldn’t need to beg God or anyone to favor you. They’ll just come as you walk in this knowledge. Treasure these teachings of wisdom in your heart.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, help me treasure Your love and faithfulness in my heart, that by continually walking in them, I’ll win favor before you and people to carry out your divine assignment. Amen!
