The heart is the root source of all life issues, whether good or bad. What you store in it in abundance reflects in your pattern of speech. Because of this reality, each believer needs to keep one’s heart with all diligence. But you may ask, how can it be done?
Well, it’s simple. To keep your heart with diligence means guarding it with fidelity (faithfulness). That implies you’ve got to stick to your Christ-centred convictions every time while giving it no chance to compromise.
When you become a Christian, your heart is the Lord’s (Ezekiel 36:26). However, you must consistently store God’s abundant Word in it primarily by spending time studying the Bible and praying your way through each day. I assure you that when you keep doing this, you’ll not waste time resisting the enemy’s suggestive evil thoughts because there’ll be no space for him. Your mind will become preoccupied with spiritual things, and you’ll enjoy eternal life better each day.
Don’t live to chance. Live with intentionality unto the Lord, feeding your heart content with His Word. Subscribe to sound doctrine, and don’t neglect Christian gatherings for fellowship (Hebrews 10:25). These practices will keep you from giving your time to worldly things.
