Grow Spiritually to Enjoy your Kingdom Privileges

“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,” — Galatians 4:1 NKJV

An heir is someone entitled by law or by the terms of a will to inherit the estate of another person. The Bible says all Christians are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17).

As fundamental as this is, the spiritual maturity level of God’s children differs. Some are children (the babes in Christ), young men and women (those growing unto maturity), and some are fathers (the spiritually mature (1 John 2:14). Because of these variations, the privileges in God’s love, although for everybody, only become enjoyed according to the faith and knowledge level of each child of God.

So in Galatians 4:1, the Bible speaks about a child (babe) not enjoying his full privileges as an heir. Instead, he gets treated like a slave because of his maturity level; since he cannot handle the privileges and possessions entrusted to people, not just heirs in identity, but living as heirs.

The goal isn’t for that person to remain a child but to mature until he assumes his full position as an heir. From this, I can say that a blessing accessed before its appointed time of release becomes hard to handle. That’s why some people struggle to manage their miracles wisely in life.

As you grow spiritually in Christ, your knowledge of God and Jesus, His sent one, will increase. You’ll start thinking like a king and a priest in Christ who’s entitled to enjoy the kingdom privileges.

Let me tell you. It’s not God’s intention for you to remain where you are now. He wants you to increase in wisdom and the knowledge of Him; so that you can live the full realities in the new creation in abundance. Listen to God. Fellowship with Him, and submit to spiritual mentorship offered by his servants through discipleship. You’ll grow.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Jesus, I commit to labour on my personal spiritual growth; so that I’ll know you, the power of your resurrection, and my privileges in Your kingdom meant for me to enjoy. Amen!
