Grace Is Able to Build You up Wholly

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” — Acts 20:32 KJV

One of the things that many people work so hard for is establishment. So many people want to work to buy land, build houses, accumulate wealth and other material possessions, all because they desire to live a life of comfort. While these things aren’t bad per se, it is proven in scripture that they’re vain without Jesus. Moreover, if anybody pursues them, they’ll end up struggling to get them because God’s blessing isn’t upon their labour.

Can I tell you something today, dear reader? Grace is able to build you up wholly. Jesus, the person of grace (see John 1:14), doesn’t want you to toil for life’s possessions. He has plans to give you a well-established future with His blessing upon everything you do. He doesn’t want you to live a sorrowful life full of complaints about bad governance in your country. No! He wants you to live in this world by the economy of heaven. That economy knows no sorrow as a side effect of the manifestation of God’s blessing (see Proverbs 10:22).

But if God is only interested in giving you a meaningful physical life, it’s limited. Why? Because some unbelievers have all these things people work hard for. So, the all-wise God extended His work of grace to build upon the inner man of His children.

Look at Jesus’ life. The Bible says He grew and waxed strong in spirit (Luke 2:40). His inner man was so fortified with spiritual strength that by the time He turned 30, He lacked no strength to accomplish His earthly mission.

Sometimes, when God is building you up, He’ll put you in hiding season. He will intentionally make some people leave your life in order to reduce monitoring eyes upon you while He builds you up in secrecy. You may be highly knowledgeable in the Word, yet have no stage to teach people or few church members to pour out your passion to. Don’t worry; keep studying. He will exalt you in His time. Just trust Him; He’s a perfect God who will never make mistakes about His leadership in your life.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for assuring me that Your grace is enough to build me up wholly. As I grow in knowing you, may I lean on this grace alone to fulfil whatever You’ve called me to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
