God’s Way of Protecting You from Evil

“Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.” — 1 Timothy 4:13 NIV

God has several ways of protecting you from evil. But one of the common ways He administers this duty is by loading you with daily kingdom tasks to keep you busy.

Busy people who live on purpose don’t have time to indulge in evil acts like stealing, hypocrisy, orgies and other works of the flesh. Why? — Because God keeps filling their thoughts with divine ideas that translate to kingdom-oriented tasks in order to keep their hands occupied.

After a long observation of a lot of young people who’re mismanaging their lives, I’ve realised that these people don’t appreciate the sense of purpose God has placed in their hearts. And because of this, most of them are lazy since they can’t discern the value of time and how to use it well.

From the opening text (1 Timothy 4:13), Paul told Timothy, a young pastor, that until he comes back, Timothy should give attention to the public reading of scripture, preaching and teaching. Now those three tasks are part of the most tedious ministry tasks in Christ. So if Timothy obeys this Word, he’ll not have time to give his life to youthful lusts and sexual immorality. And the same goes for us too. If we live on purpose, we won’t waste our lives. Living on purpose gives you proper understanding of time usage and work.

For example, if you see a man always finding ways to steal from others, it’s simple. He doesn’t understand God’s purpose for creating work and the importance of doing so.

Dear minister, learn to lead a quiet life, caring about your life, home (if you’re married), family and God’s work. Stop thinking about when God will ease his kingdom workload off your life. It will never happen. In fact, the tasks will keep increasing, so you’ll see the need to build a team to work together and hard as you fulfil your divine vision. Above all, remember that living on assignment is God’s way of protecting you from evil.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Lord, I receive grace not to complain but to continue serving you with all my heart. Don’t let my mind lose consciousness of Your Spirit in me and what You called me to fulfil. Amen!
