God Will Satisfy You With Long Life

“With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” — Psalms 91:16 NIV

Psalm 91 is one of the famous Psalms in the Bible. As many times I’ve read it, I see several promises of how God protects His children from evil people and systems when they choose to stay under His guidance.

But in the last verse, that is, verse 16, God said He would satisfy the one who dwells under His shadow (Psalm 91:1) with long life and show him His salvation. Clearly, God is talking about His children here, not just anyone in the world.

If we live in the dispensation of grace and believers are saved by this same grace through faith, then what does it mean for God to satisfy us with long life? Here’s the truth.

Life is filled with lots of uncertainties. Someone can die in a few seconds if he doesn’t have protection against unfortunate circumstances, such as car accidents or fire outbreaks. So for God to say, “… I will show you My salvation,” it means He’s committed to protecting you, His child, from losing your life. Hence, even though you sometimes mess up and do all kinds of things that deserve punishment, God will step in on your behalf, defend you against all harm and show His love upon you massively.

God isn’t a man to abandon you when you do something evil. No! He will defend and protect you because you’re His beloved child. Embrace His promise of protection today.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, I pray in the name of Jesus; correct me in love when I’m wrong. Let me not despise your chastening so that I will not meander from my divine providential way. Amen!
