Give Freely while Managing Finances Wisely

“One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.” — Proverbs 11:24 NIV

One kingdom principle that has remained consistent no matter the economic status of any place is the principle of giving and receiving. The one who gives receives. The one who withholds what’s good to those who need it eventually loses what he has.

God hasn’t blessed His people to become stingy. He has blessed them to become a blessing unto others. And one way we can manifest this blessing unto others is by giving freely.

Some people give, but out of their abundance and not from a free heart. For example, some see the need to give to others only when they have more than enough of something they possess. As soon as that thing runs short in their lives, they struggle to give to others. In this case, that’s not free giving. It’s a picture of subtle selfishness because such a person only cares about others when they have more than enough to live.

Learn to give freely unto the work of the ministry, as well as the well-being of your family and loved ones; for there’s a promise in the Word that he who gives freely will receive more in return.

If you struggle to give, let the Holy Spirit remind you of Proverbs 11:24. Meditate on that scripture, and then proceed to give by faith.

Manage your finances

Having known these things doesn’t mean we shouldn’t plan how to manage our finances. Neither does this mean we should spend money anyhow. When such things happen, it’s inappropriate because money unwisely spent isn’t godly but absurd.

Understand that love is kind. So when you plan your usage of finances, factor in an amount to give freely unto others, both the one to allocate at a goal to charity and the one to carry on you every time. You’ll see that you’ll always have enough to help people.

If you struggle to manage your money, I’d recommend that you study what the Bible says about money, re-read, and intentionally apply what you learnt from today’s devotional release to your life immediately.

Remember that how you manage wealth, as little as it is, is a direct indication of how you’ll oversee it when it becomes enormous. Take care of your finances, and you’ll experience evidential financial prosperity.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Lord, I receive the grace of giving to give freely unto your kingdom and people. Enlighten me on how to manage my finances according to your Word. Amen!
