[25] “Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you. [26] Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.” — Proverbs 4:25 - 26 NKJV

One important principle that ought to be guarded strongly in every purpose-driven life is focus. Without focus on what’s important, your life will become driven by distractions. Eventually, you’ll end up doing everything for people but miss the primary reason God brought you to the Earth.

Solomon knew this principle. He got inspired by the Spirit of God to write Proverbs 4:25 and 26, which I find many ministers rarely speak about lately.

Without focus on what’s important, your life will become driven by distractions.

In verse 25, the Bible says, “let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids right before you.” Why? Because it’s crucial to focus. However, focus without vision is vain because there’ll be no specific traceable path to plan and follow.

Focus without vision is vain because there’ll be no specific traceable path to plan and follow.

The only one who can give you a purpose-driven life is Jesus. He’s the One in whose name God has purposed that every person should be saved (Acts 4:13).

When you follow Jesus closely, He’ll direct your paths and bring people into your life that’ll lead you to know Him better each day.

Maybe you’re reading this now and don’t know your whereabouts in your life. Can I tell you something? Look out for purpose in your connection to God. Let Him direct your life so well that you’ll surrender to Him. He’s Lord, and He’ll establish the paths of your feet.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, help me develop focus on what’s necessary and purpose-driven, not the demands from the world. I choose to be dependent on you for the direction of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
