Feed Your Enemy

“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.” — Proverbs 25:21 - 22 NIV

One beautiful way of repaying evil for good as a believer is to feed your enemy. It’s an enemy that plans to do you evil. But if you know you’re loved and protected by God, you don’t have to think of offending them back. You’ll only flow in grace to excel in your calling.

God says He’ll reward you if you feed your enemy. So I’m going to ask you to watch your life closely. Identify people who may not necessarily be your “known” enemy but have probably done something wrong to you before and are not changing.

Get something nice, a gift or so, to give the person out of love. Appreciate them for who they are and not what they’ve done. Because I tell you, without these kinds of people, there are things God does for us that we may never recognise, such as divine protection.

For everyone God places in our lives’ paths, there’s a purpose. If you know it, safeguard that friendship with divine wisdom. But if you don’t, let God take control. Don’t hold grudges in your heart.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray You’ll give me more resources to refresh whoever has plotted evil against me in his mind out of Your love in me. So that they’ll know that it’s not about paying back evil for evil, but rather evil for good only in Christ. Amen!
