Faith Without Works Is Dead

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” — James 2:26 NKJV

When you get saved, God gives you a measure of faith (Romans 12:3) through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It’s the presence of the Holy Spirit in you that causes you to will and do God’s pleasure (Philippians 2:13).

However, in Hebrews 11:6, the Bible says it’s impossible to please God without faith. So, in essence, it’s the faith of Jesus in us that makes our works good before God.

Child of God, you have faith in Christ Jesus. But you’ve got to yield to the Holy Spirit in order to be inspired to continue doing good works that please God.

When you get the opportunity to help another person, especially a Christian, do it deliberately because good works are not just something you ought to do, but were created in Christ for it (Ephesians 2:10).

Express your faith by accomplishing acts of God’s love with intentionality. For God is pleased by such deeds and will reward and give you more provisions to do it abundantly. Don’t make your faith dormant. Put it to work.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for showing me that faith without works is dead. Continue inspiring me to do good works unto people out of genuine love without expecting returns. Amen!
