Double Possession

“For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” — I Corinthians 6:20 NKJV

Many of us Christians don’t know God has a double possession of our lives. I say this because sometimes, we think God’s influence on our lives started after we got saved. That’s not true. After a person gets born again, God’s impact upon his life only increases; it never starts. Let me explain.

God provides rain for everyone, old, young, adult, child, believers, unbelievers, bond, or free. He doesn’t discriminate in the provision of some life possessions despite the stubbornness of humanity.

He created us. He’s the potter, but we are the clay (Romans 9:20-21). He knows His purpose for making each of us. He has our lives in the palm of His hands. But He knows that all unbelievers don’t know Him. So after sending His Son to be the propitiation of our sins, anybody who comes to Christ has been purchased again by Christ’s blood. Therefore, God has double possession of each believer’s (eternal) life.

What makes you think God doesn’t own you? He knows you so much that He chose to love you despite how crooked you are or used to be. Friend, don’t treat Jesus as just your saviour. He’s your Lord. Honour Him deeply for that by following Him as His Spirit leads you.

You’re a blessing.
