Don’t Worry About Your Safety

“I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” — Psalms 4:8 NKJV

I love what David said about his safety in Psalms 4:8. He said he’ll both lie down in peace and sleep. Why? Because God alone makes Him dwell in safety.

In those times, there were vast assassinations of kings and prominent officials. People used to plot against others and kill them without being caught.

David, the king of Israel by then, knew his safety was under consistent threat because of the conspiracies in his kingdom, starting from his own family.

His own eldest son, Absalom, tried murdering him but was unsuccessful. What about wars?

Today, it’s like being a president of a rebellious nation that can plan to assassinate you anytime. You need God. And when you have and follow God, He’ll keep you from stumbling into dangerous paths. Don’t worry about your safety. For the keeper of the universe is for you. He’ll protect you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, thank You for Your assurance of protection amid this chaotic world. I rest, knowing in my heart that You’ll protect me from all evil. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
