By[10] “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— [11] and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.” — Proverbs 6:10 - 11 NIV
Have you ever encountered a lazy person before? No matter what you do, that person just doesn’t want to work. But a fascinating attitude I’ve discovered from interaction with such people is that they love to get many possessions for themselves and eat a lot.
These kinds of people also existed in Solomon’s time. They want everything but don’t want to work for anything. For such people, there’s a strong warning in scripture that goes to them. It’s written in Proverbs 6:10-11.
In that verse, God, through Solomon, says that if you keep postponing your work time, replacing it with little sleep and arms folding to rest, poverty will come to you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man. So the spirit of poverty and lack find its way into the lives of only lazy people.
You only defeat laziness by working consistently.
You only defeat laziness by working consistently. Even if you have everything you need in life, don’t stop working no matter what. Work is not a curse. You’re to enjoy it and not hate it.
Without work, your body will be weak, your abilities adamant and you’ll not get enough money to sponsor every purposeful area of your life.
Remember that weeds grow at where you stop working. In other words, you’ll not like what you see in places you stop putting effort in. Everything in this world thrives when someone is at work. So ensure no area of your life is left without input from you.
