Have you ever been in a car whereby the driver decides to give a bribe to a policeman for lacking some roadworthy requirements for his vehicle? I’m a Ghanaian, and I’ve seen some before.
In some moments, these drivers get an easy pass. But sometimes, some of them get arrested for attempting such an act, especially by principled policemen who are mindful of delivering good service to their nation regardless of personal interests.
In Proverbs 17:8, the Bible warns that we should not be deceived by a bribe. Why? Because it’s not always successful. In other words, you cannot always guarantee an easy pass for doing the wrong thing by bribing law enforcement personnel. One day might be a bad day for you.
Not everyone is born again in this world. Not everyone knows forgiveness and mercy. Moreover, you don’t even know everybody so as to get favour from them.
God didn’t call you to do good and evil concurrently, only to seek mercy after doing the bad ones. No! He created you in Christ unto good works foreordained before you ever got born again (Ephesians 2:10).
Obeying the laws of your country is God’s will as long as such laws don’t lead you to sin.
The Bible tells us to submit to authority (Romans 13:1) and pray for our civil leaders too (1 Timothy 2:1-2). So obeying the laws of your country is God’s will as long as such laws don’t lead you to sin.
Friend, so many people complain of some believers showing off very bad behaviours where they live and work with. Don’t add up to that number. Be different. Uphold the principles of God wherever you go and in every area of your life so that Jesus will be glorified uniquely.

Father, help me not to be swayed off Your path by the deceitfulness of wealth. Assist me to remain committed to upholding and manifesting Your ways wherever I go. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
