Dig Deep into Your Life

[11] “He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread,
But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.” – Proverbs 12:11 (NKJV)

Land is one of the most valuable assets any person can ever have. According to Economics, it never depreciates. So whether a nation’s economy is good or bad, land will never reduce in value. And on top of that truth, there are many things you can use it to do. Some people farm on it. Some build houses on it, and others use it for miscellaneous purposes. You choose what you’ll do with it if you have one. But do you know that your life is like a land? You can use it for whatever you want. But of course, not everything is beneficial for you to involve yourself in. 1 Corinthians 10:23 (NKJV) says,

[23] “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.”

According to the anchor scripture of today’s devotional, anybody who tills his land will be satisfied with bread. But what does that mean? I thought the tilling of land was associated with farming. How does the Preacher link it to being satisfied with bread? Here’s the mystery.

Solomon, the Preacher, wasn’t referring to the physical land but the human life. That is, if you dig deep into your life, there’s much more you’ll discover that you were born to do that you don’t even know about. Let me give you an example.

According to Acts 4:13, Peter and John were uneducated men in ministry. Jesus saw them in their poor state, trained and empowered them with the Holy Spirit and released them into the world to make a divine impact. If they were unschooled, it means they hardly understood how to read and write. Right? But today, we read their epistles and use them to preach every single day. Isn’t that amazing? God taught them how to read and write. And that’s how powerful living on purpose is. It’ll teach you how to do many things you never thought you could do by the empowerment of the Spirit.

Blessed one reading this, your purpose can only be discovered in Christ. And the deeper you get to know Jesus as you engage yourself in what you were born to do, the more you’ll be surprised by the many things you can do. Stop watching and listening to people who are insecure in their lives and think of becoming like them. Discover your purpose and follow suit, and people will start looking for you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the revelation that there’s more potential in me than I have ever seen in my life. Create avenues in my life that’ll bring out the best in me. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
