The tongue isn’t the smallest part of the human body. Yet, it’s the body’s most powerful part. It possesses power, and in that power are life and death. That means it is effective both in making and destroying things Based on this understanding, everyone must check what his (or her) tongue is used to say frequently. The question is, how do you do it?
Your life will be better than it is now if you’ll say good things consistently.
The best way you, a child of God, can check your tongue is by analyzing the words you say. This can be hard to do since we speak many words now and then. However, there is always a way to detect a pattern of speech in every person’s life. Those who like football talk much about football. Those who like God’s Word talk about the Word much more. So what consumes your thoughts will show in your pattern of speech. If that’s so, then to check your tongue, you have to evaluate your desires and the media content you subscribe to receive.
It’s God’s desire for every person’s words to be consistent with Truth. But that’s not possible if our minds don’t get renewed with His Word. Friend, spend time with the Bible. When you forget to check your tongue, remember the power in it, and correct yourself. Your life will be better than it is now if you’ll say good things consistently. The Bible says you’ll eat the tongue’s fruit (what it produces) based on what you use it to say. Speak gracious words unto people.
