Brainwashed By The Word

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” — Romans 12:2 NKJV

How God sees what’s good, acceptable, and perfect is different from how the world defines it. The world interprets what’s good as what’s pleasing to people. The world interprets what’s acceptable by what’s legal. The world interprets what’s perfect as something flawless. God sees what’s good as what’s pleasing unto Him, what’s acceptable as what is executed in accordance with Truth from scripture, and what’s perfect as whatever exalts Christ wholly.

Many aren’t trained in our homes about discerning good and evil according to God’s perspective. So the character of several people has become products of filthy cultural patterns and practices. Fathers, God’s Word doesn’t say bring your children in the admonition of cultural patterns, but in admonition and fear of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).

One important reason why God introduced the unending spiritual transformation course to every Christian is to allow us to be brainwashed by the Word. By constant exposition to the Word, all wrong mindsets and strongholds will be eliminated and replaced with the Truth, which is Christ.

It takes time for people to understand and walk in the light of God’s Word. And until you get to the point where everything you do or think is Word-based and sourced from accurate spiritual understanding, never stop spending time studying the Bible. Even if you get to this height of spiritual growth, know that maturity in Christ is limitless.

God loves you and doesn’t want your life to become a product of bad cultural patterns. You are sourced from God. So go for the Truth and live it out by His empowering grace.
