Blessed Is The One Who Trusts In The Lord

“Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.” — Proverbs 16:20 NIV

Have you ever thought of something that you ended up worrying about it? It could be your future career, education, marriage or a significant project you want to undertake. God understands those realms of life so well. He knows there’s a potential for us feeling handicapped of progress because of scarcity, not just financial-wise but knowledge-wise.

God has consistently used several scriptures to urge us not to worry about anything but to pray about everything and trust Him always. Some of these Bible verses are Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 6:33 and 1 Peter 5:7. But there’s one more Bible verse I spotted in Proverbs. That is the second part of Proverbs 16:20.

It says, “… blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.” That means there’s a blessing that will be unleashed upon any child of God’s life if and only if he trusts in the Lord. But what does it mean to trust in the Lord?

It means to cast all your care upon the Lord. In other words, intentionally direct whatever bothers your mind to God through prayer. When you do that, you ease off the stress to think about how to figure out your own ways of making God’s vision for your life come to pass.

You see, God cares so much about you. And He knows how far His name will reach if He elevates you. So that dream you have isn’t a nuisance to Him. He has captured it, and if it’s part of His plan for your life, He will surely take you there. Don’t be afraid. Keep moving forward in faith.

Father, I choose to cast all my cares on You. Help me remember that You care about my life when I am troubled about what to do so I can pray. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
