Be Eternity Conscious

“So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” — Romans 14:12 NKJV

Many of us are so concerned with living in a comfortable house on the earth without thinking about our fate in eternity. Are you eternity conscious? Do you think about how you’ll give account to God one day on what you used your life to do? I think it’s time we preachers remind people that Jesus is coming soon.

Being so filled with thoughts about your earthly life makes you carnal in thinking. Life goes beyond all our possessions, the certificates we have acquired, and the money we get. Eternal life is about knowing God and Jesus, the sent one (John 17:3).

Romans 14:12 tells us that each child of God will give an account of oneself to God. So even if you’re a believer and know already that you’ll go to heaven when Jesus comes today, it doesn’t mean you should live anyhow.

God has a purpose for bringing you to the earth. In fact, He’s so interested in you fulfilling that purpose that He never stops reminding you to live daily unto Him. You don’t own what you have, including your life. You’re a steward of it. Use everything you have well with divine wisdom because the Master will one day ask you what you did with what He provided for you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Oh God, cause me to be more eternity conscious in my thoughts and decisions; so that I’ll not just focus on building a comfortable life here that I’ll forget to live purposefully unto Your glory. Amen!
