“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.” - Acts 4:31 NKJV

Everybody has something that weakens him/her. Some, it’s discouraging words or threats, others, it’s financial constraints. These things vary from person to person. You, as a child of God, must know yours and set your heart never to entertain such things whenever they happen in your life. David knew he cannot tolerate discouraging words even from his elder brother Eliab when he decided to fight Goliath so he withdrew from him among people (1 Samuel 17:26-30).

In Acts 4:23-31, the early church believers were facing strong persecution by the Pharisees. Peter and John had just been filled with the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, but the persecutions made them lose the boldness to continue preaching the gospel. They identified their problem, shared it amongst other believers, and raised their voices in prayer unto God.

Don’t beat about the bush when you’re discussing your issue with someone who can help you. It’s inappropriate. It’s said that a problem shared is half-solved, but a problem described in detail to God or helpers attracts much more accurate solutions. Don’t let circumstances that aren’t threats to your God-given mission bother you. Be empowered to follow the leading of God.

You’re a blessing.
