Bad Inner Battles

“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?” — James 4:1 NKJV

Each day, several people battle with negative thoughts in their minds. And because thoughts aren’t visible, it’s sometimes hard to know that someone is having bad inner battles unless the person says it or you’re able to discern the change in the countenance of the person.

Some struggle to overcome condemning thoughts. Others struggle to overcome lust and craving for material things. These battles vary from person to person and time to time. But most people don’t even know that those thoughts aren’t theirs. They are sown by the enemy in our minds, especially during any little chance he gets when we become less conscious of God’s Word.

Just as evil thoughts don’t emanate from God, it’s God’s Word we must use to overcome them. How? By casting down all imaginations and any thought against the knowledge of God. Take this seriously since it’s the way to overcoming bad inner battles.

Having a healthy mind contributes to having a healthy life in totality. Rest in the provision and promises of God, and don’t build your hopes on people. Life isn’t about the abundance of possessions (Luke 12:15). God will supply every need you desire. Just believe this, and focus on following Jesus. He’ll not fail you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Oh God, I thank you for always being faithful with Your Word upon my life. I pray today that You’ll help me to stay conscious of Your Word and also provide every timely Word I need to conquer inner thoughts contrary to Your Word in Jesus’ name. Amen!
