Are You Hindering Or Advancing God’s Work?

[3] “As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer [4] or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith. [5] The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” — 1 Timothy 1:3 - 5 NIV

In the days of Paul and Timothy, some people used to go around spreading false doctrines about Jesus, some to make a name, others merely to hinder God’s work from prospering in the ministries of these great men of God.

Apostle Paul realised that these things happening were detours to the spread of the faith of Jesus Christ. So he, being a spiritual father to Timothy, told him to stay in Ephesus in order to command people not to teach false doctrines or give themselves to endless genealogies. In recent times, that is equal to ministers saying things not from revelation in scripture or spreading false doctrines about some pastors merely to destroy the work of God through their ministry.

Dear minister, let me ask you a question; “Are you hindering or advancing God’s work through your actions?” Every minister is supposed to build and do everything God gives to him to handle according to His pattern with a pure mentality. There’s no need to use your platform to destroy God’s work through another man’s ministry. Do you know what God has told him to build?

One thing I don’t joke about is vision. I’ve seen the harmful effect on my mind when someone spoke negatively about God’s work through my hands. So because of that, I don’t do that to others, much more to speak against pastors.

Do what God has told you to do because you’ll give account to Him (Romans 14:12). Build security around your life by being accountable to other responsible ministers of God in your life. So that when such people correct you for doing something wrong, you’ll not drift away from the truth. I pray you’ll run your race of faith well to the end.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, in Jesus’ name, assist me to do everything according to the heavenly pattern shown unto me through revelation in intimacy with You; so that I’d always focus on advancing your work every place I go in everything I am involved in. Amen!
