Are You For Or Against Jesus?

“He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.” — Matthew 12:30 NKJV

Concerning whatever you’re doing in your life, have you ever asked yourself that “Am I for or against Jesus?” Sometimes, we think this question is for unbelievers. But that’s not true. It goes to us believers too. Why? Because it might be that what you’re doing right now is not part of God’s plan for your life.

Jesus said in Matthew 12:30 that whoever is with Him will gather with Him. But whoever is against Him will scatter people.

Before Jesus said this truth, some people were arguing that His ability to drive out demons came from Beelzebul, the prince of demons. But Jesus knew it was (and still is) untrue.

There are some people who’ve determined in their minds to destroy God’s work by speaking evil of men of God. Such people despise the anointed, going around and using internet social media following to slander men of God. If you do that, you’re not for Jesus but against Him. Anything you do against Jesus’ bride, the Church, is against Jesus.

On the contrary, when you serve in the ministry, ensuring others benefit from the work in the Church, you’re for Jesus. Now notice that you don’t have to be a pastor to do this. You are already a minister when you got born again in Christ (Ephesians 2:10).

Anything you do against Jesus’ bride, the Church, is against Jesus.

So to be for Jesus in all your doings is to follow His ways as you serve and help others. It involves ensuring the principles of God get well established in your home, office, and all other areas of your life. That’s no joke; it’s work, but it’s worth it.

However, to be against Jesus means following the way of selfishness. Where there’s selfishness, there’s no love. And since God is love (1 John 4:8), selfishness contradicts the purpose of God for each individual.

When you do what you’ve not been called to do, you’re following the way of selfishness and probably sponsoring the devil’s work to deceive others that you’re serving God.

For example, assuming a godly wife fails to cook for her husband because of selfish reasons, she’s not helping the godly husband to fulfil his purpose in the Lord. Why?

  1. She is hurting him.
  2. She is causing havoc in the marriage and,
  3. She is also keeping the man hungry, making him weak to work or even sleep.

So in marriage, cooking, according to God’s perspective, is not a cultural practice. It’s a physical exercise that contributes to the fulfilment of divine purpose as the body gets nourished. Food is not bad, and so is fasting. But if you ignore either of them, you’re treading on a dangerous path.

It’s God’s will for His people to dwell in unity (Psalm 133:1) as they serve Him. So be mindful of whatever you do, never to bring disunity or differences amongst the people of God, but keep them together as you help add others to the brethren in Christ.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, teach me how to establish Your principles in every area of my life. Help me to gather more people unto Your kingdom through evangelism and discipleship. Whatever will cause disunity amongst your people, I abolish it in the name of Jesus. Amen!
