Allow Others To Learn From You

[13] “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” — James 3:13 NIV

In every community, there are people wiser than others. It usually reflects in the quality and central mentality for approaching life. But we know to live wisely in Christ, possessing divine wisdom and understanding is of great necessity.

However, God knows that increasing in divine wisdom isn’t only achievable by studying the Word. It’s also obtainable by associating and learning from wise people. That’s why the preacher says in Proverbs 13:20 that,

“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”

Proverbs 13:20 NIV

Fortunately, nowadays, you don’t need to be close to a wise person to learn from him. You only have to follow him and listen to the Word of God from his mouth, especially through the media.

According to James 3:13, doing good deeds in humility that come from wisdom allow others to learn from you as a wise person. Why? Because your life becomes a living epistle to many people.

Yes, Jesus is the standard. But you can show others Christ by living like Him, even in a pagan community (see 1 Peter 2:12). The eternal life of Christ in you is so precious to live it haphazardly. Watch your steps; for you’re an epistle of Christ to this broken world.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for making it possible to be and live like You in all my ways. As I draw closer to You, enlighten me to influence myself and others unto Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
